Battle of Social Networks

Social networks are turn out to be more popular in the Pakistan. Back in 2004-05 Orkut was the hot cake of social network in Pakistan. And today everyone become addicted to it no matter from which age group he/she belongs to. With the passage of time Facebook left behind Orkut in the battle of social networking war. And today more than 5 million internet users from Pakistan are members of Facebook out of 20 million overall internet populations. This social networking giant added 2 million users from the country in last 8 months to cross 5 million mark recently. Approximately, out of 5 million, 3.4 million users are male, while rests of 1.6 million are female. And on follow a line of investigation 76 percent of the users are aged between “18 - 34”.

Facebook has seen positive growth in Pakistan during last three years except in May 2010. Over all the social networks Facebook is the dominating social network in the country. Likewise, some other social networks like Twitter has around 2 million users from Pakistan, while the most recent social network Google Plus , still being in beta, is nearing 10,000 users from Pakistan. And with the increasing popularity of Google Plus, it will more or less cross Twitter by the end of this year and if the popularity increases it will cross Facebook by the end of 2012. Now let see who will be the campaign of this social network battle. Will Google Plus will be the future emperor or Facebook will give a hard hitting time to Google Plus.
