London Olympics 2012

The overwhelming fever of the Olympics Games all over the world made the Sega to introduce an official video game for the upcoming event of the London Olympics 2012. Olympics are planned to start on the next month and Sega taking a step ahead released London 2012 all over the world for every type of game architecture i.e. PS3, PC and Xbox 360. Sega took a lead among the game developing companies by featuring all games of the Olympics having outstanding user skills, heavy graphics making the users to compete at the higher level.

In this game, the user is allowed to choose the country he wants to represent in the Olympics games total of 45 including jumping, swimming, gymnastics, shooting, cycling, running. The game allows the users to compete in the usual events of the Olympics (100metres, archery, triple jump, beach volleyball) to earn points and it leads to unlocking the add-ons and performance boosting skills. Unfortunately Sega London 2012 doesn’t have licensing rights to the likeness and names of the real world players and athletes. Games in today’s era mostly feature likeness and names of the athletes of the real-world but owing to not having licensing rights Sega couldn’t add this feature in London 2012. Although Sega has provided the users with the option to modify the appearances and names of the playable characters so that users can create a complete their own line-ups of the athletes.

London 2012 is more about the timing, accuracy and precision rather the power and speed providing the narrow and delicate margins between the win and lose with the real world graphical effects and animations. Owing to the reason that London 2012 is game of precision and accuracy it is difficult to play it but on the other hand, it is easy to master it. Field based games are in amazing graphics and provides with an easy gameplay whereas games like table tennis, diving, volleyball are kind of sluggish and jilted. London 2012 also features multiplayer gaming which provides the user to test abilities of the game against the others. Multiplayer gaming provides the facility to select any game or selection of games making the gameplay more interesting.

Sega has summed all the amazing features with the real world graphical effects in every game of the Olympics in the London 2012 which forces the user to experience these games before the Official event of the Olympics start. But gameplay of some games like cycling is sluggish which is letting London 2012 down by damaging its reputation.
